Q: What is the problem with the assumption that only a minority truly thinks for themselves and that this situation then can be harnessed to steer people towards certain thoughts or actions?
A: "It shows a complete confusion of thought to suggest that, because under any sory of system the majority of people follow the lead of somebody, it makes no difference if everybody has to follow the same lead." (180) This is a direct attack on socialism as a whole. Although not everyone came up with socialism independently, they still chose to follow its ideals. However, because they made this choice to follow by themselves, they should not then take the ability to make the choice of whom or what to follow from others, seeing as it is in contradition of something they did themselves.
